Does an Auto Insurance Umbrella Policy Exist? [Video]

Auto Insurance Umbrella Policy

Are you looking for an auto insurance umbrella policy?

Unfortunately, such a thing does not exist. Auto insurance and umbrella insurance are two completely separate insurance policies. However, when building a quality personal insurance program, auto insurance and umbrella insurance are two necessary policies to purchase.

Umbrella insurance is a liability only insurance policy which provides insurance in excess of your underlying insurance coverages (such as auto insurance, home insurance, boat insurance, etc).

You have heard someone use the term, “Auto insurance umbrella policy,” in reference to an umbrella insurance policy because an umbrella policy can respond to a claim which originates from your auto insurance.

I want to be clear that your umbrella insurance policy is a completely separate policy from your auto insurance.
