Other-than-collision on your auto policy is the new name of a physical damage coverage you are probably very familiar with – comprehensive coverage.
The are two types of physical damage coverage on most NY auto insurance policies: collision and other-than-collision.
Other-Than-Collision Coverage
Also known as “comp coverage”, it covers occurrences such as hitting an animal with your car, a tree falling on your car, your car starting on fire, lightning hitting your car, and others.
